We used cubes from our Math Series (Scott Foresman / Envision) to measure our class penguin!
I broke the class into two groups so that it would be more manageable. The second group cut out and pasted these penguins in 'size' order. Then they used paperclips to measure them.
This was the perfect opportunity to discuss 'what' we need to do first in order to measure them. This friend forgot to 'line them up' so that he could measure them appropriately.
